Lewis Arthur “Art” Goodfellow Jr., 77, who grew up on Whidbey Island, died Jan. 23, 2004, at his home on Lopez Island.
He was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Seattle to Lewis Arthur and Janet Goodfellow, who owned the Baby Island Fishing Resort. He graduated from Langley High School in 1944. He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he attended the University of Washington and graduated from the School of Engineering. He worked for the Boeing Co. until retiring in 1986.
In 1965 he married Patricia, and they raised a family in the Issaquah area. In 1995 the couple moved to their summer home on Lopez Island. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a very active member of the Lopez Island Golf Club. He and Pat enjoyed many trips throughout the world.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer, and granddaughter, Kylee; a son, Christopher, and his wife, Ann Marie; a brother, Donald, and his wife, Jean, and their children, Janet Scott, Molly Winton and Barbara Childs and their families.
A memorial service will be held in the spring on Lopez Island.
