Louise Catherine McGowan Walker, 93, died Dec. 1, 2003, in Clinton.
She was born April 11, 1910, in Seattle to Arthur J. and Blanche Harkness McGowan. She worked at a number of jobs, including as a horse logger, driving a draft horse and retrieving felled trees. She married John Bell Walker and they had two sons.
For the past 37 years she lived in Clinton and enjoyed the scenic view. In her first few years on Whidbey she was an agent with her husband in Pioneer Properties Real Estate, Clinton. After retiring, they traveled extensively, and were among the first Westerners to visit China after it was opened for tourism. For the last six years she lived with and was cared for by Sally Jo and Roger Scott, Clinton.
She was preceded in death by John Walker, her husband of 67 years, and a grandson, John Allen Walker.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Walker and Jeannine, Seattle, and Dave Walker, Bellevue; four grandchildren, Steven Walker of Seattle, Catherine Walker Fraga, Jacqueline Heyes and Doug of Seattle, and Michael Walker and Kari of Auburn; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Don McGowan and Betty, Seattle; and a sister, Helen Gudactus, Seattle.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Visser Funeral Home, Langley.
