Marjorie J. Darst died in her sleep at her daughter’s home on Sept. 18, 2010. She was 89.
Marjorie was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Portland, Ore., and graduated from Grant High School in 1939. She married Robert E. Darst in 1943; they divorced in 1974.
She moved to Washington after the war, living in Pullman, Langley and Port Orchard. She retired from the Sun newspaper in Bremerton in 1986 and moved to Lincoln City, Ore., where she worked part time at various stores at the outlet mall until her final retirement at the age of 83.
Survivors are her son Paul M. (Diane) Darst of Port Orchard; daughter Donna L. (Kim) Seeto of Lincoln City, Ore.; grandchildren Indy Darst, Cory Seeto and Asher Cody Erickson; her favorite granddogs Bosch and Mugly and cat Tessie. Her parents and her sister Dorothy M. Moore preceded her in death. Disposition by cremation.
Remembrances can be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Newport, OR 97365. A small memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at New Life Foursquare Church in Lincoln City.
