Michael Ian McMahon died suddenly at home in Saigon, Vietnam, in the early hours of July 2, at the age of 42.

He is survived by his wife, Alejandra Cortes, his father and mother, Mike and Elizabeth McMahon and the Cortes family, Jose, Christine, Adrian, Tasha and Tristan.

Michael and Alejandre moved from Bend, Ore., to Saigon in August 2016. Michael worked as the head brewmaster for Lac Brewing Company in Saigon. He had 17 years of commercial brewing experience at Langley, Bend and Saigon.

A memorial video will be posted at Michael’s Facebook page tor family and friends to remember a wonderful son and truly fine person. As he posted at his Facebook page: “International brewer and man of mystery. Fighter of dragons, sailor of seas.”
