Myrna Kaufman

Myrna Jean Kaufman, 64, of Burlington, died Jan. 29, 2004, at the University of Washington Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1939, in Coleharbor, N.D., to Ruth and George Fajerson. She graduated from Langley High School.

On Nov. 26, 1958, she married Jerry Kaufman in Clinton. She drove a school bus for the Lake Washington School District and later for the Burlington-Edison School District, where she retired in 1993 after 23 years of driving. She was an avid golfer and loved to collect, especially McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. She was an outstanding cook and always had leftovers in the refrigerator for whoever walked in the door. She loved people, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Mrs. Kaufman was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and George; her father-in-law, J. Theodore Kaufman; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kaufman; and four nephews, Timothy Fajerson, Ryan Kaufman and Richard and Jerrold Eis.

She is survived by Jerry, her husband of 45 years, of Burlington; a son Mark, and Barb and their children, Maddie and Jillian, of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Kelly, and John Henriot and their children, Jesse, Kelsey and Jordan, of Clinton; a son Tad, and Colleen and their son, Cody, of Ocean City, Md.; a brother, Troy, and his partner, Hal, of Sacramento, Calif.; a mother-in-law, Jean Kaufman; a brother-in-law, Jay Kaufman and Shirley; a sister-in-law, Alice Eis and Jerry; a brother-in-law, Jack Kaufman; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.

A private burial service was held Jan. 30 at the Clinton Cemetery. A memorial service was held Monday at the St. Joseph Center, Mount Vernon, with Rev. Mark Johnson presiding.
