Naomi Jean Ward: June 4, 1960 – October 1, 2024

Naomi Jean Ward wasborn on June 4, 1960, inLawton, Oklahoma, andpassed from this life onOctober 1, 2024, after ashort battle with cancer. She lived in Auburn,Washington; San Diego,California, for one (1) yearwhen she married Clayton Ward on October 20, 1984; Warner Springs, California, for approximately six (6) months; then she moved back to Washington and lived in Port Orchard, Bremerton and Oak Harbor. She was the daughter of William and Gloria Morrow; granddaughter of Avery and Opal Morrow; and niece of Dale and Janie Morrow. Her friend, Rebecca Pate, provided care giving during her battle with cancer in Oak Harbor, Washington.

Naomi graduated from Auburn High School. She loved ladybugs with a heart filled with passion, was a participant of “Whidbey IslandRocks” and painted numerous ladybug rocks to hide for people to find and enjoy. She loved providing service to her community and those that lived in Chelsea Apartments. She always said she asked God to use her as His vessel to serve those she could. She was an active member of the Oak Harbor Church of Christ and taught children from cradle roll up through 6th grade. Her faith was strong and a testimony to those around her during her battle with cancer.

Naomi had the heart and spirit of a warrior for God. Her favorite scriptures were Psalm 23 “The Lord’s Prayer” and Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”. She raised two (2) children as a single parent starting in 2000 and kept a strong faith and encouraged her children to keep the faith during the tough times in their lives. She was Nana to four (4) wonderful grandchildren (Ava, Bella, Ryker and Lincoln.

She is survived by her children: Glorianna (Kevin}, Ryker and Lincoln Nolen, Buhl, Idaho; Wesley (Rachel), Ava and Bella Ward, San Diego, California. Her brothers and nieces/nephews: Wayman (Cindy) Morrow, Onalaska, Texas and (her brother’s children Victor, Siobhan and Gillian); Gordon (Linda) Morrow, Carson City, Nevada; and Clayton Ward (former husband), Polson, Montana.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oak Harbor Church of Christ on October 19, 2024, at 10:00 am. A private family inurnment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.
