Pat (Mabel Lois) Patterson passed away on Aug. 14, 2006 at the age of 80.
She was born Nov. 17, 1925 in Somerset, Ky. She met her husband, William, while attending Marshall University. She was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
In 1950, she and her husband moved to Seattle. She dedicated a good share of her life as a great mother and wife. During this time she was a Girl and Boy Scout leader, room mother, and chauffeur for her kids and their friends. She also managed to fit in 10 years with the Boeing Company, supporting a team on the development of the 767.
When she and her husband finally retired they enjoyed golfing, gardening, lounging in the sun, traveling the world and cooking gourmet food. She would spend her time between these activities providing support to South Whidbey’s Meals on Wheels program, being a member of the Friendship Force group, the Red Hat society, and most of all, she volunteered and supported the Trinity Lutheran Church. She will always be remembered for her hospitality gatherings after worship as your coffee server.
Her survivors include sons William H. Patterson and wife Cheryl of Freeland, and Dean Patterson and wife Denise of Clinton; grandchildren Nicole, Maryn, Calli, Charlie and Amy Gilstrap of Draper, Utah; niece Patty Ferrell; her husband Steve; and son JB of Seymour, Ind. Her late daughter Anne Sopher and husband are both awaiting her arrival at the pearly gates.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland. A reception will follow the service.
The family asks that any donations be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 97, Freeland, WA 98249.
