Patricia Lorena Mickelson Kauffman, 77, Greenbank, died March 1, 2003, at Providence Hospital in Everett of natural causes.
She was born May 13, 1925, in Portland, Ore., to Edward and Eva Kiekenapp. She was a resident of Whidbey Island for 55 years.
According to her family, she lived a moral and fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. She lived selflessly and devoted her life to her family with unconditional love. She was a proud woman who helped herself with grace. Even though she endured many difficult times over the years, she was never one to complain. She will be remembered for her heart of gold and her genuine smile that will never fade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pamela Gene Mickelson; and her first husband, Gene William Mickelson.
She is survived by her husband, Clayton Carstens Kauffman of Greenbank; children Scott William Mickelson, Mikel James Mickelson and Kristina Ann Horvath; and grandchildren Jessica Eve Mickelson, Jeremy Gene Brown, Dixie Alejandrina Mickelson, Jonathan Oxone Mickelson, Scott Ellis Mickelson and Sarah Jayne Mickelson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Bayview Cemetery, Langley.
