Patricia Ann Saul, 64, Freeland, died Nov. 7, 2003, at home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Portland, Ore. She graduated from high school in Oregon City, Ore., and did a tour of duty with the Navy as a dental technician. She married C. Dudley Saul III in 1963, adopting his five children.
They became residents of Whidbey Island in 1972, and moved with the Navy to Exmouth, Australia; Lemore, Calif.; and Okinawa, Japan.
After retirement, the couple continued to travel, more recently residing in the Florida Keys. Her passions in life were quilting and working with the St. Vincent De Paul as a volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, Dudley; six children, Chuck Saul, Catherine Burnside, Elizabeth Meseberg, Bob Saul, Brian Saul and Tricia Griffin; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Nov. 11 at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church, Langley.
