Ray Johnson went to meet his maker Nov. 7, 2002.
He was born Nov. 19, 1927.
He was preceded in death by Janet K. Johnson, his wife and the mother of his five children.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond Johnson Jr. and Rex Johnson; three daughters, Bonnie Joplin, Vikki Byland and Lori Channel; 13 grandchildren; two beloved brothers, Milton and Robert Johnson; two sisters, Elise Luff and Dorothy Maryatt; many nieces and nephews and their families; and his companion of the last few years, Betty Jean Dunagan (Legs).
According to Mr. Johnson’s family, he was a proud man and was an optimist, jokester, mentor, and friend. He will forever remain in their hearts.
No memorial services are planned at this time.
The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to Mr. Johnson’s friends on Whidbey Island, who welcomed him to their community and shared a laugh, a sip and a fond memory during his final years.
