Richard Mariner Sorensen, 82, died May 22, 2003, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Kanaraville, Utah, and was one of six children.
He was a homebuilder and raised his family in the Bothell area. He and his wife, Luella, later moved to Whidbey Island, where they lived for 23 years before returning to Bothell.
He is survived by Luella, his wife of 62 years; children and their spouses, Dave and Joanne of Waikoloa, Hawaii, Jeanette and Bill of Manson, Loretta of Edmonds, and Wendell and Deny of Wassilla, Alaska; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Othel and Norman.
A service was held Wednesday at Bothell United Methodist Church.
