Robert James Broderick, 88, and Carolyn Ann Broderick, 87, quietly passed away in their Edmonds home on April 1, 2010, and April 15, 2010, respectively.
They were surrounded by their son, Robert (Mary, daughter Kelsey) and daughters Carol, Christine, and Robyn.
Mr. Broderick was born Jan. 19, 1922, and his wife was born Jan. 3, 1923.
The couple wed in September 1950.
A decorated World War II veteran, Mr. Broderick honorably served in the U.S. Army, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division with extensive combat experience in the European theater.
Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in business administration.
Mrs. Broderick was a proud homemaker. A true matriarch, she gathered her family together often at the Broderick’s home, where a true sense of love and connection was fostered among her children and grandchildren.
Bob and Carolyn loved Whidbey Island, where they kept a beach residence for many years and made many friendships.
The Brodericks were laid to rest together on April 22, 2010 at Acacia Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the VFW local chapter in Edmonds in honor of Robert’s name and service.
