Robert (Bob) Edwin McGinty passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale. Bob was born in Seattle to Edwin and Ann McGinty on Aug. 8, 1932. He went to Roosevelt High School, attended Everett Junior College, Seattle University and the University of Washington.

He met his wife Adele and was married for 55 years. They enjoyed many years of travel all over the world and attended many Husky games. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2010.

He served in the Navy as a medical corpsman from 1949 to 1971, retiring as a petty officer first class.

He became a firefighter in 1958 and retired after 27 years in December 1985 as a captain.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ann McGinty, and his wife Adele. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Julie) McGinty and Karen (Chuck) McQuillan and four grandchildren, Kerri and Craig McGinty and Jennifer and Jessica McQuillan

An informal memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
