Shirley Earlwyn Belcher, 73, passed away June 12, 2009 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A graveside service at Langley Cemetery was held on Tuesday, June 23.
Shirley was born in Langley on Nov. 25, 1935 to Earl and Ethel (Rhodes) Goldsmith.
Shirley was born and raised in Langley and graduated from Langley High School in 1954.
Shirley was a member of Langley United Methodist Church, and that is where she married John F. Belcher, her husband of
54½ years. They had two children. Shirley and her family spent most of their lives in Langley, but after John retired they settled in Anacortes.
Shirley enjoyed family reunions, barbecues and picnics; her favorite holiday was Christmas.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son Robert Earl Belcher.
Shirley is survived by her husband John F. Belcher; daughter Earla J. Jenkins; three grandchildren, Danny (and his wife Nancy), Derrick and Lacey Cope; two great-granddaughters, Christy and Sarah Cope; and her sister Doris A. Clark.
She will be missed very much! Have a safe journey home, Shirley Belcher.
