Shirley Louise Fetterman was given her wings and died at her home in Oak Harbor, WA on Friday, December 9th , 2022.
She was born to Henry Samons and Dorothy (Lockerby) Samons on December 12, 1942, in San Francisco, California. The family resided in Redwood City, CA and moved to Loma Rica, CA where she attended and
was a graduate of Marysville High School. During her sophomore year she met her soul mate Dean Raymond Fetterman, and they both married at the age of 18. She became a military wife and homemaker when Dean joined the United States Navy. Anxious to start a family, she was unable to conceive a child at the time and they adopted their son Eric. Shortly afterwards the Lord blessed them with the conception and birth of their son Curt. The family
traveled across the country and was given orders to NAS Subic Bay, Philippines.
Upon Dean’s retirement they spent their time loving each other and traveling across the country spending loving time with friends and family. Yearly, they enjoyed going to Cabo San Lucas. In 2007 the Lord unexpectedly took their son Curt.
In 2021, the beautiful union and life of two ended after almost 62 years. She carried on giving her love to family and friends. Shirley is survived by her son Eric, four grandchildren Victoria, Christopher, Brittany and Marissa; and
two grandchildren Ali and Christopher Jr…
