Sylvia Josephine Cook

Sylvia Josephine Cook, 92, Langley, died June 28, 2003, at her home.

She was born July 20, 1910, in Buxton, N.D., to Matt and Clara Halvorson. She married Roy A. Cook on May 23, 1940. She and her husband built a home on Fox Spit in 1958 and moved from Seattle to Whidbey Island in 1993. She worked as a registered nurse for the Bon Marche in Northgate for many years.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Bethel Lutheran Church and a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church in Seattle.

She is survived by her husband; a son, George Cook of North Bend; a daughter, Nancy Bosch of Boulder, Colo.; four grandchildren, Christopher Bosch and Nadya Bosch, both of Boulder, and Jeffrey Cook of Seattle and Jennifer Cook of North Bend; and a brother, Roald Halvorson of Spokane.

Services will be private.
