Major Thomas H. Farrington died quietly at home on June 4, 2007 after a short fight with leukemia.

Born in Owego, N.Y., Tom lived in many places including Florida, California and a long time spent on Orcas Island.

He called Whidbey Island home for the last two years and loved the people there.

Thomas served 26 years in the Army, with tours in the South Pacific, Korea and Vietnam. He was proud of his military service.

Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doreen; his son, Thomas; grandchildren; his sister, Mary Charlotte Chaney; and his stepchildren, Sydney, Guy and John Anderson.

Tom lived his last days with the grace and humor that marked his life and will be greatly missed.
