Virginia Lee Price, 94, passed away July 1, 2007 at her home in Freeland. She was born Dec. 3, 1912 in Nampa, Idaho.
She attended the University of Washington School of Nursing and graduated in 1935 in the first graduating class at Harborview.
She was married Jan. 13, 1934 in Olympia, WA to V. Clifford Price. They moved to Ketchikan, Alaska and later to Fairbanks. She lived in Alaska for 14 years, before returning to Seattle in 1947. Virginia then helped Cliff run Price Hardware in North City, Seattle.
In the early 1960s she returned to work as an RN at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds. In 1967 Virginia and Cliff moved to Whidbey Island to their then summer home, which was purchased in 1958. She remained on Whidbey for the next 40 years.
She belonged to the Whidbey Island Chap DAR, PEO, South Whidbey Garden Club, United Methodist Women, and Whidbey Island Hospital Foundation (advisory board member). She was a member of the Langley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Virginia ( Susie) Buse and spouse, David, Annagreta Bowen and spouse, Michael and Kathie Lynn Trudelle; one son, James Clifford Price; grandchildren, Shannon Buse, Kevin Buse and spouse, Joanna, Benjamin and Greta Bowen, Jennette Malsbury and spouse, Mark, Suzanne Trudelle, Jimmy, Jake, and Jonathan Price and Bill Broderick and spouse, Bridget; great-grandchildren, Danica and Savanna Buse and Luke and Lee Hayden; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V. Clifford Price in 1991, and son-in-law, Joseph C. Trudelle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7 at the Langley United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 6 at Visser Funeral Home in Langley.
