Former Freeland resident Wesley L. Maddox died Sept. 6, 2002, at Northwest Hospital .
Mr. Maddox was born March 10, 1924, in Seattle to Wesley P. and Ruth Maddox. He was a lifelong resident of Washington state, dividing his time between the Seattle area and Whidbey Island.
During World War II, he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, in 1981, his first wife, Thelma, in 1992, and his father, Wesley, in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Leona, of Shoreline; children Cheryl (Tim) Krueger of Bremerton, Chuck (Vikki) Maddox of Freeland, Mark Maddox of Seattle, Doug Park of Pullman and Leslie Park of New York City; and two grandchildren, Gwen (Nick) Kaschmitter of Lafayette, La., and Jeremiah Kaschmitter.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Edmonds Church of God. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
