Willda Ann Grimm, 69, of Langley died April 14, 2004, at Whidbey General Hospital after a lengthy battle with COPD. She had made her home on South Whidbey since 1990; before that she lived in Yakima for over 20 years.
She was born in St. Paul, Wis., on Jan. 2, 1935, to Samuel and Rachel (Ann) McVeigh. She attended school at Yellville, Arkansas and lived for several years in Southern California before moving to Washington. She shared a long and happy marriage with the love of her life, Albert Leslie Grimm, who preceded her in death in 1989.
According to family, Mrs. Grimm was a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles, and feeding and watching her yard full of squirrels.
She is survived by sons Samuel Grimm of Priest River, Idaho and Albert Grimm of Lacey; daughters Brenda Hodges of Everett and Elizabeth (Babe) Jones of Ontario, Ore.; brother, Robert McVeigh of Lacey; sisters, Mary Dilley of Forks, Sara Little of Freeland and Grace Corbit of Olympia; grandchildren Jason, Sammy, Krista, Harley and Rianna Grimm, Alisha Ackley, Ronnie and Robbie Hodge, Brandy Billings; Travis, Megan and Matthew Jones, Amy Schank; Nick Corley; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and their son Andrew (Andy); a brother, Jim; sister Anita; and her parents.
In celebration of Mrs. Grimm’s life and drop-in Open House will be held at 4988 Wheel Drive, Langley on April 24 2-4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
