Zachary “Zac” James Adams: November 20, 1954 – July 17, 2024

Zachary “Zac” James Adams was born into the loving arms of Robert Adams and Helen Wadlinger in Philadelphia, PA on November 20, 1954. Zac passed away at Whidbey General Hospital on July 17, 2024, at the young age of 69. Zac said he held a song in his heart and was singing up until his final days.

Zac was raised in Arlington, VA and had many joyful memories of fishing with his family, swimming in quarries, sailing with his dad and playing music with his mom. He was a man of unwavering faith and was inspired at an early age to become a carpenter. He became an expert in his craft, which led him to become a contractor and start Jade & Pearl Construction.

Zac was preceded in death by his mother, Father, and brother Bob. He is survived by his children Sarah Adams, Sonjia Delano, and Gabe Adams, son-in-law Thomas Delano, granddaughter Isla Delano, siblings Michele Adams, Linda Pletka, Greg Adams, Ann Irelin, and Martin Vendemia, partner Mary Kerrigan, and many other family members whom he loved very much. There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Zac’s legacy on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Clinton Hall from 11am-1pm. His celebration will be open to the public for anyone who knew and loved Zac.

Zac was a dedicated, generous, supportive, and loving father, grandfather, committed companion, and friend to all who knew him. Zac was a positive man, brave, quick-witted, with a kind soul, and had a heart of gold that outshone the sun. He would (and did many times) offer the shirt off his back. He enjoyed adventures on the beach, thrifting, driving anything on wheels, music, and poetry. He loved to work outdoors, play catch, guitar, and cribbage. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids. He was a free spirit, full of authenticity and originality. He held a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and was always ready to crack a joke for a good laugh. Bizzzoooiiiinnnggg!

Zac had the strength of a lion and now he soars free with the eagles.
