The Tigers’ power stung the Falcons as Granite Falls hit three home runs.

Granite Falls catcher James Barnard led the Tigers with two home runs and five RBIs.

In the top of the fifth inning, the defense allowed four unearned runs on three errors.

The Falcons picked up a run in the second inning as senior Austin Bennett led the inning off with a base on balls. Bennett was followed by two more walks, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Ammon Christensen.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Ben Ross his a double with one out. Ross scored on Bennett’s first hit of the season.

The bottom of the sixth, the Falcons picked up their final two runs of the game. Christensen hit a one-out double. Mason Shoudy singled to right field.

Michael Agate then drove home Christensen with a single, and Ben Ross brought Shoudy home with his second hit of the day.

That was it for the Falcons as they dropped their ninth straight Cascade Conference game.

Eight South Whidbey batters struck out to Tigers pitcher Colton Patterson, who pitched a complete game.

South Whidbey lost the second game by one run to Granite Falls, 9-8.

The Falcons had the tying run on third base and the winning run at second, but couldn’t push them across in the bottom of the seventh inning as they sought their first league win.

The Falcons struck early in first inning as they scored four runs.

Aaron Curfman led the way with a one-out double to left-center field. Ross drove Curfman home with a single to center field. With two outs, Cameron Wildes hit a single to left field, putting two runners on base for senior Zeke Spalding.

Spalding then hit his first career home run for the Falcons. It was a three-run blast over the left-field fence.

Granite came back in the third inning as they scored five runs and took the lead 5-4. They scored all five runs with only one hit — six walks made scoring easier for Granite Falls.

South Whidbey scored two more runs in the bottom of the third to retake the lead 6-5.

Both runs came with two outs. Spalding and sophomore Jack Lewis scored on Christensen’s single.

Curfman finished 3-for-4 at the plate.
