Expert will give class on fly tying

Gil Nyerges will give his annual fly-tying and fly-casting classes for beginners this month, and classes start next week.

Gil Nyerges will give his annual fly-tying and fly-casting classes for beginners this month, and classes start next week.

The popular course is an introduction to the intricacies of both tying and casting. All materials and tools will be furnished, and students are welcome to bring their tools to have them evaluated, or to use.

The fly-tying classes start Monday, March 8 at the Day Road fire station, with classes continuing from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9; Friday, March 12; Monday, March 15; Wednesday, March 17; and Friday, March 19.

The fly-casting classes will be held at the Lone Lake access area or at Freeland Park. Classes will be held on the weekends of March 13-14 and March 20-21. Saturday sessions will be from 8 to 10 a.m., and the Sunday sessions are 10 a.m. until noon.
