The South Whidbey High School boys cross country team won the North Sound Conference meet held in Langley Thursday, Oct 4.
The Falcons scored 45 points, followed by King’s (56), Cedar Park Christian (59), Granite Falls (76) and Coupeville (136).
Granite Falls was the only school to earn a team score in the girls meet. Teams need at least five runners to qualify.
Scoring for the Falcon boys were Michael Cepowski (fourth, 18:11.49), Callahan Yale (fifth, 18:16.85), Thomas Simms (ninth, 18:57.98), Reilly McVay (12th, 19:06.46) and Cooper Ullmann (15th, 19:19.37).
Kaia Swegler Richmond led the South Whidbey girls, taking second (20:4.39). Also competing were Grace Huffman (eighth, 24:20), Natalie Rodriguez (ninth, 24:40.19) and Laila Gmerek (12th, 25:37.23).
