Falcon cross country runners place high at final tuneup for district race

Both South Whidbey boys and girls cross country teams placed fourth at the Cascade Conference championship meet Saturday.

The Falcon girls were narrowly bested by fellow 1A school King’s for third place, and Cedarcrest won the team title. The Falcon boys trailed first-place Lakewood, second-place King’s and Cedarcrest.

South Whidbey hosts the District 1 championship meets for 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A schools in Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, San Juan and Island counties on Saturday, Nov. 1.
