South Whidbey softball defeated Port Townsend 17-0 in a non-league game on Saturday, April 22.
Falcon junior Mackenzie Collins threw a perfect game with 14 strikeouts through five innings. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double that scored three runs.
Senior Leah Merrow was the Falcons’ top hitter. She batted 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two stolen bases.
The victory improved South Whidbey’s record to 7-5 overall. The Falcons are tied with Granite Falls for second in the Cascade Conference at 5-3 in league.
South Whidbey hosts Cedarcrest at 4 p.m. today.
