South Whidbey junior 145-pound wrestler Hunter Newman won the Iron Sharpens Iron tournament hosted by Bellevue Christian High School on Dec. 12. Newman pinned all three of his opponents to win his second consecutive tournament and improve to 6-0 on the season.
Falcon sophomore Julian Fifield placed second at 132 pounds after being pinned by Concrete’s Blaine Storm in the finals match. Falcon juniors Logan Madsen and Chase Barthlett placed fourth at 195 and 285 pounds, respectively. Juniors Jack Nielsen (152 pounds) and Trevor Kleinfelder (182) placed fifth.
The Falcons will compete at the Lynnwood Classic on Dec. 19.
