The South Whidbey High School track teams warmed up for the regular season by taking part in the Island Jamboree along with Coupeville and host Oak Harbor Thursday, March 15.
No team scores were kept in the abbreviated-event meet.
The Falcon boys received first place efforts from Kristopher Dixon, 110 high hurdles, 16.88; Owen Boram, javelin, 154-03; and Sam Martin, pole vault, 9.
The girls were paced by Sophia Nielsen, who won both her events (100 hurdles, 15.92; long jump, 15-01). Other wins came from Lila McCleary, 200, 28.37; Elizabeth Donnelly, 800, 2:29.93; and Kaia Richmond, 1,600, 5:34.66.
Nielsen’s time in the hurdles is the fastest 1A mark in the state in the event so far this young season.
Next up for the Falcons is a three-team home meet with Archbishop Murphy and Granite Falls at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 22.
