It was a double win for the South Whidbey High School girls golf team at the bi-district tournament Tuesday, May 15, at the North Bellingham Golf Course.
The Falcons won the team title and senior Kolby Heggenes captured medalist honors with an 83.
Emma Leggett placed seventh with a 96 and Alyssa Ludtke took 16th with a 104. The top 25 individuals qualified for the state tournament.
Olivia Varga “had a good round going but a wrist injury forced her to withdrawn,” according to Falcon coach Garth Heggenes.
Now that the bi-district is out of the way, South Whidbey can now focus on defending its state title May 22 and 23 at Hangman Valley in Spokane.
Kolby Heggenes placed second in the individual state standings in 2016 and 2017. Leggett and Ludtke are making their state debut.
