Falcons move into third in volleyball

The South Whidbey volleyball team took over the third spot in the Cascade Conference after beating Sultan in three games on Tuesday, 25-4, 25-8 and 25-8.

“The girls played their game and had fun doing it,” said Falcon coach Mandy Jones.

The Falcons are 7-3 in the league and 7-3 overall; the Turks at 0-10 have yet to win their first game.

For South Whidbey, Allison Wood had 10 kills and eight aces, Brittany Wood had seven aces, and Cayla Calderwood had five kills.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, the Falcons host Granite Falls in Erickson Gym. The team will host “fan appreciation day” during the break. “Come out and support your Lady Falcons,” Jones said.
