Falcons win over Coupeville
The South Whidbey girls soccer team won 4-1 over the Coupeville Wolves Thursday.
Karissa Thomas had two goals, one assisted by Morgan Thomson, Jessica Manca had one with a Laurie Robinson assist and Julia Iverson had a brilliant 25-yard shot for the fourth score.
“This wasn’t our most intense game and we had a chance to get everybody on the field,” said Falcon coach Paul Arand. “Laura Barrow played very well on defense; Julia and Liz Adams did an excellent job controlling the ball. Karissa was focused throughout, as usual. All in all, it was a fine team effort.”
South Whidbey is tied at 4-3 with Granite Falls in the Cascade Conference.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, the girls welcome Lakewood to Waterman Field.
