First scrimmage to start earlier Saturday

The time has changed for the South Whidbey High School football squad's first scrimmage, called the "Toilet Bowl." The scrimmage is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Waterman Field.

The time has changed for the South Whidbey High School football squad’s first scrimmage, called the “Toilet Bowl.”

The scrimmage is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Waterman Field.

After the scrimmage, all are invited to enjoy an Hawaiian lunch luau of salad, rice, noodles and pork for $7.50 a plate.

“This is one meal you do not want to miss,” said Falcon defensive coach Damian Greene.

The team is gearing up to surpass last season’s 9-2 record, the school’s best since 1992.

Also, the game slated for Sept. 5 at Cedar Park has been moved to Newport High School.
