South Whidbey’s lone female wrestler, Nicole Helseth, finished fifth at the Arlington Girls Rumble Saturday, Jan. 12.

Helseth (130 pounds) opened the tournament with a pair of falls. She pinned Burlington-Edison’s Abigail Sims in 4:39 and Mount Vernon’s Ginger Wyckoff in 1:30.

Helseth lost to B-E’s Mackenzie Ingrum by fall (5:37) in the semifinals and to Sims (1:45) in the match for third place.

The South Whidbey wrestling team holds its only home meet of the season at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17. The double-dual will also feature Darrington and Friday Harbor.
