The South Whidbey High School boys golf team was able to finish ahead of one larger school but trailed two others in a four-team match Wednesday, April 17, at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.
The Falcons shot a 195, beating 3A Marysville Getchell, which tallied 209. Snohomish edged fellow 3A school Marysville-Pilchuck 164-165 for first.
South Whidbey’s Gabe Jacobson-Ross, however, was able to take down all of the golfers from the larger schools, taking medalist honors with a 39.
Brady Hezel shot 51, Lewis Mattson 52, Dane Saxton 53, Max Rodriguez 58 and Kellen Eager 64.
South Whidbey entertains King’s at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 23.
