The Langley Middle School eighth-grade girls basketball team defeated the Tigers from Granite Falls, 31-27, to go 2-0 on the season.
Rachael Arand led the Cougars with 17 points, six rebounds and two assists. Carlie Newman added eight points, four rebounds and three assists. Kristin Schuster netted four points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Fellow LMS player Mikayla Schumacher contributed two points and three steals. Anne Madsen and Audrey Neubauer each had an assist on the night, while Hannah Grady had two rebounds.
Plenty of Cougars were in rotation, including Kenna Prosch, Maggie Fisher, Morgen Mackie, Jen LeRoy, Camlin Northup, Ashlie Gran and Olivia Bolding.
The team’s managers are Jillian Casey, Joellyn Leffler, Maryn Patterson and Randi Burk.
The middle school girls were schedule to play at home early this week against the Lakewood Cougars.
