Two South Whidbey men took the top two spots in the Race the Reserve Half Marathon on Saturday.
Kurt Warwick, a 25-year-old Clinton resident, finished with a strong cushion for first place in 1:15:24.
Alastair McLachlan, 42, of Langley finished in second place in 1:21:41.
The 13.1-mile race took runners around Coupeville and Ebey’s Reserve during a foggy morning Aug. 9.
The first female half marathon finisher from South Whidbey was Brenda DeForest, 48, of Clinton. She wrapped her run in 1:50:39.
Race the Reserve featured three different courses: a 13.1-mile half marathon, a 10,000-meter run, and a 5,000-meter run.
In all, 287 people ran in the fundraiser for Coupeville High School’s senior graduation night celebration. Of the racers, 12 called Clinton home; eight hailed from Langley; and six were from Freeland.
