South Whidbey girls basketball beats Eagles in rematch

South Whidbey girls basketball earned some redemption on Friday night.

The Falcons beat Cedar Park Christian 52-35 on Jan. 27, making up for a 48-44 loss to the Eagles on Jan. 10. South Whidbey improved to 9-9 overall and 4-6 in the Cascade Conference.

Senior Kacie Hanson led the Falcons with 20 points, while senior Megan Drake was the Falcons’ next leading scorer with 12. Juniors Kolby Heggenes and Mackenzie Collins also scored eight points apiece.

The Falcons played Granite Falls after The Record’s deadline Tuesday.

South Whidbey plays King’s (10-8 overall, 8-2 in league) at 5 p.m. on Friday night at home in Erickson Gymnasium.
