South Whidbey’s track and field boys and girls teams both defeated Archbishop Murphy in a home meet on Thursday, March 23.
The Falcon girls defeated the Wildcats 98-45, while the boys won by a narrow margin of 69-68.
Placing first for the girls were senior Bailey Forsyth (100, 200 meters), junior Elizabeth Donnelly (800), senior Sophia Morgan (1,600, 3,200), junior Sophia Nielsen (100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump), junior Makeda Browne (shot put, discus), sophomore Maddy Drye (javelin) and the girls 4×100-meter relay team (Anna Leski, Alexandra Kurtz, Mikayla Hezel and Forsyth).
Taking first for the boys were freshman Issiah Gonzales (high jump), senior Collin Burns (1,600, 3,200), sophomore Kristopher Dixon (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and 4×400-meter relay team (Larsen Christiansen, Max Dodd, Matthew Simmons and Kristopher Dixon).
