A three-run fifth inning helped push the South Whidbey High School baseball team past host Sultan 6-2 Monday, April 9.
Up 2-1, the Falcons plated three runs in the fifth to pull away from the Turks to collected their second Cascade Conference win of the season.
South Whidbey (2-6, 3-7) continues conference play when it hosts Cedarcrest (4-2, 6-4) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10.

Alex Black got things going for the Falcons in the fifth with a leadoff single. After stealing second, he scored on an error off the bat of Nick Young. Back-to-back singles by Drew Fry and Brent Batchelor produced the other two runs.
South Whidbey opened the game with a run in the first on singles by Young and Batchelor.
The Falcons added another run in the fourth on a walk to Ethan Petty, a single by Dax Jokinen and an error.
Sultan scored in fourth to make it 2-1, setting up the Falcon fifth.
The Turks (1-5, 2-7) scored once in the fifth to make it 5-2, then South Whidbey finished the scoring with a run in the sixth behind base hits by Taylor Brown and Young.
Young, Fry and Batchelor all finished with two hits; Batchelor also had three RBI and Fry smacked a double.
Black, Jokinen, Luke Rookstool and Brown collected singles for the Falcons.
Petty pitched the first five and a third innings and surrendered only four hits and no earned runs and struck out nine. Batchelor pitched the final four outs and allowed no base runners.
