Five Falcons registered multiple hits and Ethan Petty pitched a two-hitter in South Whidbey High School’s 7-0 non-league baseball win over University Prep at Shorecrest High School Monday, April 15.
South Whidbey plays another non-conference game when Overlake (9-2) visits at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.
The second-place Falcons (10-2, 14-2) finish the regular season with three games against North Sound Conference leader Cedar Park Christian (12-0, 15-1) next week.
Monday and Wednesday, April 22 and 24, the teams play in Langley at 4 p.m. The final game is set for 4 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Marymoor Park.
The Falcons will need to sweep the series to capture the league pennant.

The Falcons broke the Pumas’ seven-game win streak with the shutout.
Petty fanned 14 and walked only one in his two-hitter. He also helped out on offense with a pair of hits.
Kody Newman paced the attack with three base hits. Jon Bartel and Alex Black had a double and single each, Drew Fry had two singles, Brent Batchelor ripped a double and Ashton Leland added a base hit.
Singles by Black and Newman and a balk put a run on the board in the first inning.
In the second, the Falcons scored three times behind two errors and a double by Black and singles from Fry, Newman and Bartel.
South Whidbey scored twice in the sixth when Black walked, Newman singled and Batchelor doubled.
Singles by Bartel and Petty led to the final run in the seventh.
