The South Whidbey High School girls golf team placed seventh and Kolby Heggenes finished third among individuals at the 21-team Burlington Invitational Monday, April 16, at the Skagit Valley Golf and Country Club.
“It was a rainy day all day long and the course was extremely soggy,” Falcon coach Garth Heggenes said. “I thought the girls toughed out some difficult circumstances and played well.”
Kolby Heggenes shot 80, Emma Leggett 102 and Alyssa Ludtke 123 over 18 holes. The tournament format has two other golfers from each team play nine holes, and Tori Schuller finished with a 60 and Olivia Varga a 75.
The Falcons go to Brewster to compete in the Gamble Sands Invitational on Thursday, April 19.
