Three Falcon runners finish in top-20 at Sehome Invitational

South Whidbey cross country had three runners finish in the top 20 of their divisions at the Sehome Invitational on Saturday in Bellingham.

The two-mile run was the final warmup competition before full cross country races begin this week. Thirty-six schools from across Western Washington of all sizes, from 4A Kamiak to 1A South Whidbey participated. Only two other Cascade Conference schools, Cedar Park Christian and Lakewood, were represented at the race.

Mallorie Mitchem had the best place for the Falcons with 12th among junior girls in 13:12.

Cole Zink, a senior, finished in 14th place in 10:58 among 12th-grade boys.

Freshman Elizabeth Donnelly placed 18th among freshmen girls in 14:15.
