South Whidbey hosts its third annual volleyball clinic and welcomes back Gylton Damatta, a volleyball consultant for the Brazilian National Team.
From June 27-29, the clinic is open to students entering sixth to eighth grades.
The first day of the clinic for sixth and eighth grade students begins at 4 p.m., and ends at 7 p.m. The second day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the final day begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
Then from June 30 to July 1, the clinic is open for students entering grades nine to twelve. The clinic for these students runs from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Clinic organizers said the course emphasizes team building, improving technique, progression and acquiring advanced skills to improve game performance.
Organizers recommend wearing a T-shirt, shorts, sweat pants, volleyball shoes (no black-soled running shoes), knee pads, a clearly labeled water bottle with the drinker’s name on it, a lunch and snacks.
The clinic costs $165 and registration is still open.
